We're Having a BABY!
We couldn't be more excited to announce that we are expecting BABY LANG JANUARY 2013. Both families were hugely surprised on Fathers Day with the news. We are thankful for all of your prayers, support, and love as we make this adventure into parenthood.
Baby Lang is now just shy of 12 weeks (and measuring 4 days bigger than my expected due date)

I'M BACK
I'm back and desperately working on my photography skills. I broke my camera less than a year into our marriage and have been terrible about keeping updated with pictures. So here goes giving my blog a second shot......and some more pictures with my new DSLR!

LOVE.
Church today reminded me that LOVE should not be limited to those you think deserve it. I am thankful for the redemptive love Christ gave me and hope that I can extend that same kind of love to others. For a moment during church this morning Drew turned to me and said that my mom is a great example of this, and she is. She loves without judgment, gives of herself, and lends a helping hand to so many people (that we would often mark as "undeserving"). Today, more than ever, I admire her loving heart and her obedience to God's call to love. I am also so grateful for a God that gave us the ultimate example of love and forgiveness.

I say we get an energy credit for this PSE!
Saturday morning, around seven, we were awakened rather rudely by a crack, a crash, and an electrical firework show…right outside our bedroom window! I woke up crying knowing exactly what had happened and Drew woke up frazzled by the sparks flying outside our bedroom. My lovely husband bravely attempted to snap me out of my shock and get us out of our house as quickly as possible. Once we were safe in his truck he promptly made the 911 and PSE phone calls. Our neighbors came out to see what all the commotion was about and also began calling 911 and PSE. Thankfully our house wasn’t in flames and we were safe. In fact, minimal damage was done to our house at all. I find it ironic that for the last 6 months (or longer) this same power pole has made me anxious. It had this unnerving lean to it that was pointed perfectly in the direction of our master bedroom….right towards our bed. During a couple of the windstorms we’ve had in the past couple weeks, Drew and I have both lost sleep over it. So…when I heard the crack… and the crash I knew it had hit our house. Thank God we are okay! I am still amazed looking at these pictures…I can’t believe the way it fell (as far away from our bed as possible…right outside our master bathroom). Now….we are anxiously waiting for the power to come back on and for heat! Apparently this unnerving power pole was servicing power to over 2,000 houses before it fell. Therefore, the seven PSE trucks outside our house will be taking care of the situation ASAP! Thank God for safety, for minimal damage, and for a NEW (and sturdy) power pole!

As a result of the first pole snapping...this pole was pulled out of the ground and was leaning towards our house, too! |

Let's Celebrate!
This past week was full of celebrations. First, I didn't have school on Thursday or Friday, which is a celebration in itself. Most importantly, however, two very important men in my life had birthdays. For my dad's birthday (Nov. 10th) we had a "nice" family dinner....full of laughs, inappropriate behavior (typical), and lots of love. I always enjoy getting together for a big family dinner, but we seriously miss my brother Jordan (a key source of humor in the Hibbard home) when he's away at college!
We also celebrated my wonderful husband's 23rd birthday (Nov 14th) with a large family dinner at Mizu's on Saturday. This was promptly followed by distracting my husband in every way possible and keeping him away from our house for about an hour. I had planned a surprise dessert and game night back at our house, with some of our closest friends. It was a really fun night and I love celebrating such a wonderful person, husband, and friend. Oh and if anyone was curious....the girls killed the boys in our game of pictionary...we had a MAJOR comeback (after we turned our board away from the guys so that they would stop cheating).
